Nun Dessert Cafe is a place for those with a sweet tooth. It has been in business for over six years, serving Korean-styled desserts.
As a veteran of the catering industry running a number of restaurants, Henry Chan, Director of Nun Dessert Cafe, was looking for additional resources to effectively promote the brand and attract new customers as the pandemic finally came to an end. When introduced to CDI and the potential benefits of using alternative data, he decided to give it a go.
eftPay is an electronic payment service provider in Hong Kong. It has been providing payment services and an all-in-one point of sale (POS) system to Nun Dessert Cafe for over 4 years.
With the owner’s consent, eftPay shared the electronic payment and transaction data of Nun Dessert Cafe with a CDI participating bank. Without asking the owner for paper statements or collateral, the bank made use of the alternative data shared to streamline the loan approval process. In the end, the loan was approved in a few days. The pleasant experience has forged closer ties between Nun Dessert Cafe, eftPay and the bank, thanks to the seamless data sharing facilitated by CDI.
